In a world crazy for unicorns — where the mythical creatures are used to market everything from frappuccinos to vape juice — comes a federal trademark fight over “Unicorn Snot.”
Long Island-based Jailbreak Toys claims consumers are confusing its popular glittery, gel-like snot with a Manhattan-made product of the same name by novelty company Idea Glue.
Jailbreak filed a Manhattan Federal Court lawsuit to protect its trademark, noting the gel it sells on Unicornsnot.com is geared toward kids and has “generated tremendous sales.”
The company offers glitter body gel for $12.99, along with lip glitter and gloss and sunscreen — all under the “Unicorn Snot” name.
Meanwhile, the “unauthorized” boogers from Mythicalslyme.com — marketed as “100% ethically harvested from only the finest Unicorns” and selling for $13.99 — are one of several sparkly “unicorn” slimes offered by Idea Glue, including “Unicorn Tears,” “Unicorn Dreams” and “Unicorn Blood.”
Idea Glue founder Lana Li told The Post, “We are working with Jailbreak Toys so that both of us can continue on our shared missions and bring more glitter and sparkle to the lives of our customers.”
