The accident happened around 2:20 a.m. on an approach to the bridge near West 180th Street and Amsterdam Avenue, the FDNY said.

The car was struck by the truck, which shredded the vehicle to bits and left the wreckage crushed up against a divider.

The 23-year-old truck driver — Sandhu Simranjeet Singh from Durham, NC — continued over the bridge, law-enforcement sources said.

He was later arrested at the Vince Lombardi Service Area in Ridgefield, NJ, the first westbound rest stop after leaving New York City on the New Jersey Turnpike.

Singh was booked for alleged DWI by Port Authority cops in New Jersey but will have to be turned over to New York police for prosecution by the Manhattan DA in connection to the deadly crash, law enforcement sources said.

Meanwhile, three people had to be pulled from the mangled wreckage and were rushed to area hospitals.

Caeser Contreras, 25 was later pronounced dead, police sources said.

Two other women 28 and 39 were taken to Harlem Hospital with serious injuries.
