It was business as usual on the city’s subways yesterday, despite a controversial union directive telling operators to slow down.

TWU Local 100 issued fliers telling subway motormen to enter stations slower than 40 mph to give them more of a chance to stop in front of possible jumpers.

The MTA said the order was a bid by the union to protest contract gripes.
