A transformer blew up at the Indian Point nuclear power station in northern Westchester on Saturday night, sending flames and smoke shooting into the air.

A spokesman for the plant’s operator, Entergy, told NBC that the fire was put out by sprinklers and the facility’s fire brigade.

There were no reports of injuries and no release of radioactivity.

Gov. Cuomo said that he feared oil that leaked from the transformer would find its way into the Hudson — and state and private crews were working to keep it from happening.

The transformer is 300 to 400 feet away from the reactor building, which is reinforced by a 4-to-6-foot wall of steel and concrete.

“Explosion at Indian Point? Maybe I’ll finally get to see a three-eyed fish like on the Simpsons #IndianPoint #explosion #smh #nuclearpoop’’ tweeted Cat Leist @CatLeist.
