A transgender man who worked at a Whole Foods in Chelsea claims he was humiliated on a daily basis by co-workers who referred to him as “she, her, or it.”
In a Manhattan federal court lawsuit filed Saturday, Victor Alexander King, 21, alleges his supervisors also discriminated against him, including one by telling him, “I know you are not a guy, I am not going to refer to you as a guy.”
The supervisors had sensitivity training, but the insults allegedly continued, forcing King to quit in March.
A Whole Foods rep said that the company has yet to review the suit but that it has “long celebrated diversity.”
