Just because you have a job at the Department of Transportation doesn’t mean you can run a travel business on city time.
Anthony Julien, a $32,000-a-year machine office aide at the DOT, learned that the hard way when he agreed to pay a $2,000 fine to settle charges of misusing city resources, officials reported yesterday.
Julien admitted making 140 calls on his government phone and receiving or sending 182 e-mails on his city computer, all for his home-based Internet travel agency, called You Name It Travel and Cruise.
He was laid off in January for unrelated reasons.
