A tree cracked in half and fell on an elderly couple’s car as they tried to park during an afternoon downpour.
The couple was driving down West Street in Gravesend at about 4:15 p.m. Wednesday when the wind and rain snapped the tree, sending it crashing down onto their Hyundai sedan — just steps from their home.
Emergency personnel had to pull the couple from the car.
The wife was taken to Coney Island Hospital for minor injuries, according to the FNDY. The husband was uninjured.
