A Tribeca doctor who pushes ketamine infusions for pain management filmed patients without their consent while they were undergoing treatments, according to a lawsuit.
A Manhattan woman claims in court papers that she saw staff at Dr. Jonathann Kuo’s Hudson Wellness clinic “taping patients, including herself, while undergoing the procedures without their knowledge due to eye coverings.”
Kuo first asked patient Angela Cappetta, 53, to give a review or testimonial of the business in December, but wouldn’t take no for an answer, repeatedly asking if she would be filmed, she said in the Manhattan Supreme Court lawsuit.
Ketamine infusions deliver low doses of the drug, which is an anesthetic that can have hallucinogenic effects, via an intravenous drip in a bid to manage chronic pain.
The patients being filmed had on eye coverings and headphones provided by staff and were lying down at the time, said Cappetta’s lawyer, Jennifer Snider.

A lawyer for Kuo called the allegations “categorically untrue” and denounced the claim as “factually preposterous.”
“This is a frivolous action at its clearest and we will be seeking sanctions, court costs and attorneys fees from Ms. Cappetta,” attorney Aaron Pierce said.
