Trio cleared in gay bash
Three teens have been exonerated in the vicious beating, sodomy and robbery of four men during a gay-bashing gang initiation in an abandoned Bronx building earlier this month.
The district attorney decided there was not enough evidence to charge Brian Cepeda, 16, Bryan Almonte, 17, and Steven Caraballo, 16, who had spent nearly three weeks in jail after being charged with several hate crimes, in the brutal attack.
Eight youths still face charges.
Cepeda’s mother said she was relieved.
“I couldn’t eat,” she said. “I couldn’t sleep. I’m very content now.”
