A dump truck has crashed into a building in downtown Manhattan, injuring eight people.

The accident happened shortly before 1 p.m. Wednesday in Chinatown.

The fire department says six other cars besides the dump truck were involved in the accident and eight people were hurt.

Four of them were taken to hospitals and four were treated at the scene. None of their injuries were life-threatening.

City buildings officials didn’t return calls seeking comment about the property.
