Instead of vegging with video games, one New Jersey teen is running a global truffle empire that caters to the best New York chefs.

The rare, delicate mushrooms are worth their weight in gold in the culinary world, with white truffles going for nearly $2,000 a pound.

Ian Purkayastha, an 18-year-old college dropout from Hoboken, counts Manhattan restaurants Per Se, Daniel and Jean-Georges, which all boast three Michelin stars, among his clients.
