President Trump again weighed in on the New York City mayoral race Tuesday, giving a brutal prognosis of Republican Curtis Sliwa’s election chances and declaring he’d rather see a Democrat than a “Communist” in charge at City Hall.

“If [Sliwa] dropped out, he’s not going to win — and not looking too good for Cuomo either,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office, referring to Republican nominee Sliwa and former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, a Democrat who is running as an independent.

“But maybe, I don’t know, if he dropped out, maybe Cuomo would have a little bit of a chance, but not much, because it looks like the lead is, it’s not a great lead, but it’s big enough that he should be able to win,” Trump said.

Democratic Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani holds a double-digit lead with 43.2%, while Cuomo trails at 28.9% and Sliwa grabs 19.4%, according to the latest polls.

The margin would shrink dramatically if Sliwa exited the race: Cuomo would be just four points behind Mamdani, within the survey’s margin of error.

Sliwa, the perpetually red beret-wearing founder of the vigilante group the Guardian Angels, insists he’s staying in the race despite mounting calls for him to step aside and let anti-Mamdani votes consolidate behind Cuomo.

Even his own boss, John Catsimatidis, who owns WABC, where Sliwa hosts his own show, has urged the longshot mayoral hopeful to exit the race, leading the GOP candidate to lash out at the station and vow to quit his gig Wednesday.

With just two weeks before Election Day, Trump has not officially made an endorsement in the race as he bashed Mamdani, calling him a “Communist.”

“So I don’t know that I want to get involved. It’s really a question of, would I rather have a Democrat or a Communist? And I would rather have a Democrat than a Communist if he dropped it,” Trump said.

Trump, a Queens native who built his real estate empire in the Big Apple, has taken a keen interest in the future of his hometown, particularly after Mamdani pulled off a shocking Democratic primary win to put him in the driver’s seat ahead of the Nov. 4 general election.

“He is concerned about the New York City race. He does not want a socialist mayor, and he said, ‘It’s not going to happen’ under his watch,” Catsimatidis told The Post in September.

When the race was a four-man contest, with Mayor Eric Adams still in the fight, rumors swirled that the 47th president would offer Hizzoner a job in the administration, but only if Sliwa also decided to exit the race.

Adams ultimately abandoned his reelection last month without a job lined up, as he faced dismal polling numbers and waning donations.

Meanwhile, Trump has shown some hope toward Cuomo even though the pair have butted heads dating back to mayoral hopeful’s tenure as governor.

A month after Cuomo lost to Mamdani in the June Democratic primary, Trump suggested the former Queens boy should remain in the race as an independent option.

“I think he has a shot,” Trump said in July.

Trump’s lack of support for Sliwa has been longstanding with the commander-in-chief leader even poking fun at Sliwa and his wife Nancy’s pet cats, with the couple keeping nine as pets in their home.

“This isn’t exactly ideal, where he wants to make Gracie Mansion a home for the cats,” Trump said on Fox News on Sunday. “Gracie Mansion is the magnificent home of Fiorello La Guardia and the great mayors, [like] Rudy Giuliani.”

The two apparently haven’t spoken in more than a decade, since an appearance on Sliwa’s radio program in 2013.

But Trump hasn’t been the only influential figure to cast Sliwa aside as moderates and fellow Republicans are pushing for him to quit the race and give Cuomo the best shot at taking down Mamdani.

Some of the voices include colleagues of Sliwa at WABC like Catsimatidis and well-known host Sid Rosenberg, who got into a shouting match with the Guardians Angels founder Wednesday morning.

“Let me just say Sid, I am directing my comments to everybody at WABC,” Sliwa said on air.

“They have said I’m selfish. Selfish? Are you out of your mind?” Sliwa continued. “… But that’s why you will never see me at the studios of WABC again, never, no matter how this election turns out.”
