Tunnel now the ‘Carey’

Bye-bye, “Brooklyn-Battery” Tunnel.
The MTA is officially renaming the 62-year old tunnel connecting Brooklyn and lower Manhattan after the late Gov. Hugh Carey on Monday, officials said yesterday.
MTA chairman Joseph Lhota and members of Carey’s family will attend the 11 a.m. dedication ceremony, two years after the state Legislature approved the name change.
