The dad who left his 1-year-old twins inside a hot car in the Bronx for hours Friday, killing them, was supposed to take the children to daycare, according to a neighbor.

Temple Barros, 41, told The Post the father’s normal morning routine includes dropping off his toddlers, Luna and Phoenix, at a childcare provider.

It’s unclear what daycare the family uses.

Instead, Juan Rodriguez, 39, of Rockland County, claimed to police that he forgot his children inside his Honda Accord during his eight-hour social worker shift at the James J. Peters VA Hospital in Kingsbridge.

Police early Saturday charged Rodriguez with two counts each of criminally negligent homicide and manslaughter.
