Two people are dead and two others are injured after a devastating car crash on the Southern State Parkway on Long Island Friday morning, New York State Police said.
The white Infiniti Q50 was driving westbound on the parkway around 10:20 a.m. when it crashed near exit 41A in Islip, police said.
No other cars were involved and it is unclear the condition of the other two passengers, cops said.
Photos of the wreck show the sports car’s mangled remains wrapped around a tree in a wooded area near the highway. It’s not clear what caused the crash.
The parkway is closed at Exit 41A and all traffic is being diverted to the northbound Sagtikos State Parkway.
