A Sunday-night flight over Long Island nearly turned tragic for two people when their small plane crashed onto a quiet street corner, leaving them both injured.
The single-engine Piper aircraft was flying over Bayport when it went down at around 7 p.m., officials said.
Pilot Scott Clifford, 35, suffered a head injury and the passenger, Mike Rome, 65, sustained two broken legs. Both men are from Orange County, NY, officials said.
