Contract talks between the MTA and its largest union have been stalled by the illness of the union’s boss.

John Samuelsen, president of Transport Workers Union Local 100, which represents subway and bus workers, has been sidelined by an infection stemming from hip surgery, a source said yesterday.

His health issues, which stemmed from an on-the-job injury, are expected to sideline him for another one to six weeks.
