Uber has increased its stranglehold on competitors with a new feature that will allow users to schedule cars ahead of time.

The car app company is adding the feature in New York City Thursday morning. It lets customers book rides up to 30 days in advance.

A passenger who has an early morning flight can now schedule their ride to the airport ahead of time, so that they have one less task to worry about on travel day.

Uber debuted the service in Seattle, where it has mostly targeted business clients, but in New York City it is offering the pre-scheduled rides to all users of the app.

Drivers will still only be notified of the impending ride a few minutes before the pickup, according to company officials.
