The widow of the Australian diplomat who plunged to his death in Manhattan while playing the “trust” game with his brother expressed her grief on Facebook just hours later.

“Absolutely shattered,” wrote Lauren Waugh,

.

The message was reportedly posted on her private page Wednesday.

Friends and family also offered their condolences and shared stories about 30-year-old Julian Simpson, who fell from the seventh floor of his Lower East Side apartment building where he lived.

“It was his dream to go and travel overseas with his work,” said former neighbor and longtime pal, Louisa Keranas. “He absolutely loved his job.”

Simpson had been drinking with his brother at a dinner with friends before the pair decided to play the “trust” game — which involves one person leaning back and another catching them.

His brother was unable to hold him, though, and Simpson wound up falling onto a second-floor landing, where he was pronounced dead.

“He was just such a loving, caring, generous young man,” Keranas told News.com.au. “This is so sad.”
