An unhinged man shot his neighbor with a crossbow in Brooklyn early Wednesday, cops said.

Joseph English, 64, allegedly marched up to the victim in the dark around 4:40 a.m. outside their building on Hanson Place in Fort Greene and threatened him, police and sources said.

“I’m going to shoot you,” English coolly warned before firing an arrow at the 54-year-old man, according to the police sources.

Both men told cops they live at 67 Hanson Place but they did not know each other prior to the shooting, according to police. Google Maps Both men told cops they live at 67 Hanson Place but they did not know each other prior to the shooting, according to police. Google Maps

The victim was hit in the left hip.

He was treated at the scene for minor injuries, a police spokesperson said.

English — whom sources described as “emotionally disturbed” — was charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon and menacing after the grisly incident.

Cops described the two men as “strangers” to one another although they lived in the same building.
