ALBANY — The state’s top court yesterday barred teachers unions from getting the names and addresses of charter-school employees.

The Court of Appeal’s 4-3 ruling reverses a lower-court decision granting information about teachers at six Albany-area charters.

The publicly funded, privately owned schools had refused to release the information on the grounds that it would be used for membership solicitation.

The union had claimed a right to the information because the teachers are, in effect, public employees.
