Some NYPD cops who have refused to get vaccinated have a new February deadline to get the jab – or else they will get canned, The Post has learned.

The updated guidance to the city’s municipal worker COVID-19 vaccine mandate was detailed in a Sunday night letter from the Sergeants Benevolent Association to its members.

With regard to the NYPD, new hires in the department who haven’t shown proof of a second dose and those who were placed on unpaid leave for initially failing to comply with the October 2021 mandate face termination if they aren’t fully vaccinated by Feb. 11.

It’s unclear how many cops will be affected by the updated deadline. Four detectives represented by the Detectives’ Endowment Association are on unpaid leave for failing to comply with the mandate, according to a letter from the union’s president, Paul DiGiacomo.

On Monday, the NYPD is expected to notify the unvaccinated cops who are in jeopardy of getting fired, SBA President Vincent Vallelong said in his letter.

A separate deadline is expected to be announced for existing NYPD employees who still haven’t provided proof of a second jab, including those who applied for exemptions but were denied, even after appeal, according to the letter.

About 5,000 cops have formally requested religious or medical exemptions. They have been permitted to continue working while their applications are considered, as long as they undergo weekly testing.

The Feb. 11 deadline does not apply to cops who are still awaiting the final word on their exemption request, the SBA letter said.

City Hall didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment on the pending deadline.

One police source was outraged over the mandate.

“The fact that the City of New York, a city that has already seen unspeakable violence against its police department this year, is threatening its officers with termination if they don’t receive a vaccine is reprehensible,” the source said.

“The fact that this comes after two officers were shot and killed in service to this City is just another slap in our face,” the source said.
