A UPS delivery driver was fighting for his life early this morning after he was hit by an SUV that went out of control and veered onto a Lower Manhattan sidewalk yesterday, authorities said.

The victim, Michael Rogalle, 58, was hit in front of 15 Beekman St. about 4:30 p.m.

He had been on the same route for 26 years and had become a neighborhood fixture.

“A lot of people in the area know him very well,’’ said UPS spokesman Mark Dickens.

“This has a lot of people very upset. Our drivers have a reputation — they live and work in these communities and they’re part of the neighborhood. It’s really sad.’’

He’d never had an accident when he was behind the wheel.
