VICTOR, NY — A man suspected of using stolen credit cards to buy jewelry tried to hide some of the evidence by swallowing a diamond ring, authorities said.

Rahkeim Scarlett, 33, of Troy, swallowed a diamond ring while in custody that was among jewelry he allegedly bought with stolen credit cards.

He passed it several days later.
