Six upstate puppy mills repeatedly cited for animal abuse remain open for business as usual, the Humane Society of the United States charges in a new report.
And the society’s annual “Horrible Hundred” list of unscrupulous breeders says thousands of abused pups from them continue to be sold in the Big Apple.
“The vast majority sold in New York City pet stores are from puppy mills,” said HSUS State Director Brian Shapiro.
