GREENWICH, N.Y. — Authorities say a man has died after being struck by a sheriff’s department patrol car on a street in an eastern New York village.
Cambridge-Greenwich Police Chief George Bell says a Washington County sheriff’s car struck the man around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday as he walked in Main Street in Greenwich, 33 miles northeast of Albany.
The names of the victim and the person driving the sheriff’s vehicle haven’t been released Thursday morning.
No other information was released. A dispatcher says Sheriff Roger Leclaire wasn’t immediately available for comment.
