Cops yesterday busted the “Vaseline Bandit” and uncovered a cache of stolen items in his Bronx lair, law-enforcement sources told The Post.

Luis Gonzalez, 40 — who allegedly confessed to nine of the 37 burglaries of which he is suspected — was nabbed at his Echo Place home after detectives recovered his DNA at a heist, the sources said.

Gonzalez, who has eight prior busts, earned his moniker by smearing peepholes so neighbors couldn’t peer out and witness his break-ins, sources added.

The recovered loot links him to dozens of crimes in Manhattan and The Bronx, the sources said.
