Well, she won’t be able to blame the bad-pizza deliveries on her hefty hubby anymore.
“Bad Vegan” Sarma Melngailis has filed for divorce from her estranged spouse Anthony Strangis – two years after cops caught up to them when they ordered from Domino’s while hiding out at a $99-a-night Tennessee motel.
Melngailis, 45, and Strangis, 37, were on the lam to evade angry investors in her celeb-friendly vegan restaurant Pure Food and Wine after swiping $2 million from the company to blow on Rolex watches and European vacations.
Melngailis blamed Strangis – a 275-pound ex-con – for placing the fateful order of wings and pizza that tipped off cops. The svelte blonde insisted she was still a devout vegan.
Her Gramercy eatery – which drew celeb diners like Woody Harrelson and Alec Baldwin – shuttered in 2015 after Melngailis went AWOL that summer leaving unpaid staff in the lurch.
When they were busted, Melngailis claimed she was divorcing Strangis, who had a criminal record and gambling problem. But she just filed for the split last week more than six months after being freed from Rikers on fraud and grand larceny charges.
Meanwhile Strangis is one year into a five-year probation period for failing to pay sales tax and stiffing restaurant staffers.
The split is uncontested, meaning they don’t expected a legal battle.
That’s likely because they have nothing to fight over. The couple didn’t have children and they must repay the money they stole from investors as a condition of their guilty pleas.
Melngailis told The Post in an email she’s “reviewing to see what if anything I can say.”
Her soon-to-be ex-husband did not immediately return a message seeking comment.
