Lt. Danielle Kearns-Connell, 43, was not breathing when her husband discovered her at their Brooklyn home, said Lt. Anthony Almojera, the vice president of the FDNY Uniformed EMS Officers Union.

Her husband called 911 and she was taken to Brookdale Hospital where she was pronounced dead, Almojera said.

He said the cause of death was not known.

Kearns-Connell, who joined the department 2002, was the mother of three children with special needs, he said.

Almojera called her an “incredibly bright human being.” She had an interest in Asian culture and was fluent in Korean, he said.

“She was well liked as a lieutenant,” he said. “She really advocated for the members.”
