A man robbed an 11-year-old boy of his cellphone in the Bronx, according to police, who released video of the disturbing encounter Friday.
The kid and his schoolmate were walking at East 189th Street and Arthur Avenue around 3:20 p.m. Tuesday when the man came up from behind and asked for the time, cops said.
When the victim took out his phone, a struggle ensued as the man attempted to snatch it from the kid’s hands, the footage shows.
The child was eventually overpowered by the thief, who grabbed the phone and ran off, cops said.
The boy suffered only minor pain to his arm and refused medical attention.
Police are also looking for another man who acted as a lookout.
