New video shows the moment a man randomly slashed a fellow straphanger on a Bronx subway platform.

The 42-year-old male victim was sitting on a bench, wearing headphones, at the northbound 2 and 5 platform of the East Tremont Avenue station just before 7 p.m. Oct. 23, when the attacker walked up to him, according to police.

Video released by cops late Thursday shows the assailant walking with another person on the nearly empty platform and approaching the victim.

The suspect said something the victim couldn’t hear, cops said.

Then he lunged at the victim with an unspecified “cutting instrument” and slashed him on his left wrist and left hand, the clip shows.

The person with the attacker pulled him away — but he walked back to pick up something he had dropped on the ground before taking off, the footage shows. Cops are still looking for him.

The victim was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was treated and released.
