An unhinged man spat at and punched a Bronx MTA bus driver who refused to let him board, disturbing new video released by police shows.
The suspect was waiting for the BX6 express bus at Westchester Avenue and East 163rd Street at 2:15 p.m. March 24, but the driver did not stop — prompting him to step into the street in the path of the bus, video released late Tuesday shows.

The driver suffered pain in his left arm, shoulder and neck.

“This was an abhorrent act of violence and disrespect against a transit hero just doing his job moving New Yorkers,” MTA bus chief Craig Cipriano said in a statement.
“We are cooperating fully with the NYPD, join in asking for the public’s help identifying perpetrators, while this further highlights the need for a stronger police presence on buses.”
