This is the moment an airplane engine catches fire at John F. Kennedy International Airport, dramatic footage shows.

The Buenos Aires-bound Argentina Airlines flight 1201 moves down the runway when a loud boom sounds off, and the jet is surrounded by an orange flash of light.

The small fire occurred around 11 p.m. Thursday. By the time Emergency Service crews responded, the flames were already extinguished, a Port Authority spokesperson said.

Passengers did not need to be evacuated and no injuries were reported. The plane was escorted back to the gate, the spokesperson said.

There is no word yet on the cause of the blaze.
