The NYPD released surveillance video on Tuesday night of another possible suspect responsible for a string of Queens arsons.
The footage – which comes just two days after authorities misidentified a motorcycle-riding good Samaritan as the potential firebug – captures a man walking down the same Forest Hills street of the latest suspicious blaze on Dec. 6. just moments before the blaze was ignited.
Wearing what appears to be a backpack and winter coat, the person of interest can be seen briskly walking –after momentarily peering behind him – eastbound along 69 Road toward the Grand Central Parkway about 12:10 a.m. That latest arson, in series of seven, dating back to October 20, was started just 8 minutes later on the same block.
Before ruling out the Coast Guardsman as the arsonist, officials had released surveillance video of a hooded-man creeping around the construction site of the fourth recorded arson. It’s unclear if the recordings are of the same man.
