Newly released surveillance footage shows an unidentified brute slugging a 71-year-old man in a random attack in the Bronx early Saturday.

The video, released by the NYPD Sunday, shows the attacker punch the elderly victim in the face on Southern Boulevard around 6:45 a.m., sending the man flying into the street.

The suspect then casually walks down East 187th Street.

Police released the video in an attempt to identify the thug, who is described as a 25- to 30-year-old man, wearing dark clothes and a dark baseball cap, according to police.

The victim was treated at Lincoln Hospital for a gash to the face and released.
