A lawyer who believed another man at SoHo’s tony Thom Bar at the Thompson Hotel had laughed at him whacked him with a broken champagne flute, prosecutors told jurors yesterday at a bizarre Manhattan felony assault trial.

Bryan Brooks, 37, claims he attacked Chaka Smith, 28, in self-defense in June 2011.
