A couple whose New York City vacation was foiled because of the coronavirus ended their trip on a high note — when they got a free helicopter tour of the Big Apple.

Washington state couple Ed and Rita Everstine were forced to nix their itinerary of quintessential city activities — including a showing of Broadway’s Tina Turner musical, plans to attend the St. Patrick’s Day parade and run a half-marathon — when the events were abruptly canceled over COVID-19 concerns.

“We are disappointed,” Ed, 69 told The Post Thursday, adding they planned to fly back four days early, on Sunday. “It’s New York City!”

But their frowns were turned upside down when they got a call from Liberty Helicopters offering the free ride — after the company read their story in the pages of The Post.

Liberty gave them a 15-minute view of the city from the sky, which the pair described as “amazing” and “just gorgeous.”

“New York was so wonderful to us. We thought we were going home disappointed but we are going home very happy,” Rita, 67, gushed. “We will be talking about this for the rest of our lives.”
