A fire tore through a Washington Heights apartment building early today, injuring seven people, officials said.

The blaze broke out on the fifth floor of the building on Riverside Drive and West 160th Street at 1:30 a.m.

The fire raged on for nearly two hours before firefighters got the flames under control.

Seven civilians were treated at New York Presbyterian Hospital for minor injuries, said a spokesman for the Fire Department.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
