That’s squall, folks!

An intense snow squall enveloped the Big Apple Wednesday, sweeping in a whirlwind of flakes and causing whiteout conditions — before swiftly disappearing.

Incredible time-lapse footage of the weather event shows the snow starting softly at around 3:25 p.m., intensifying quickly and then stopping suddenly at around 3:55 p.m.

Meteorologists say snow squalls are similar to summer thunderstorms — in that they’re brief — but intense.

The squall in New York dumped about an inch of snow on city streets, with heavy winds propelling the flakes sideways at one point.
