If LeBron James is worried about being hounded by fans if he comes to play for the Knicks, Mayor Bloomberg wants him to know that even at 6-foot-8 and 240 pounds, he’d blend right into the crowd of 8 million in the Naked City.

Bloomberg said yesterday hours before James became a free agent that one major advantage of being a superstar in the Big Apple is celebrities aren’t bothered much here.

The NBA’s most-sought-after free agent could enjoy a normal, private life here if he chooses New York over the many teams, including the Nets, Chicago, Miami, the Los Angeles Clippers and Cleveland, looking to sign him.

Bloomberg said stars love New York because they get publicity working in the biggest city in the nation but aren’t bothered while walking down the street.
