The 1 train is for no one headed to or from upper Manhattan and The Bronx this weekend.
Service is suspended between 96th and 137th streets in Manhattan, and between 168th Street in Manhattan and 242nd Street in The Bronx, for repair work until 5 a.m. Monday.
The MTA says free shuttle buses will be provided.
If the bus is too slow, the MTA suggests taking the A train, which meets up with the 1 at the 59th and 168th street stations.
The shutdown will allow work crews carry out station repairs and perform structural work.
