West side story
“West Side Story” came to the western part of the Island when a bloody clash between rival gangs in Woodrow landed six men behind bars, authorities said yesterday.
The groups were apparently settling a turf war at a housing development at Kramer and Winant avenues at 1 p.m. Sunday, sources said.
Wielding crowbars and nail-studded clubs, Ricardo Leon, 48, Francisco Gomez, 47, Carlos Leon 28, and Joseph Rivera, 17, attacked brothers Matthew and Michael Glock.
Responding cops quickly rounded up the six combatants, who were not seriously injured.
