Whoopi Goldberg was chosen from more than 140 people who wanted to adopt Verrazano, the kitty thrown from a moving car on the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge in July, NY1 reported yesterday.

Animal-control officer Brendon Ocasio rescued the then-5-month-old kitten who got thrown after he saw the fur ball come flying out of the window of a car onto the roadway.

In a post on her Facebook page, Whoppi said, “I was finally able to take him home. His nickname is “Vinny.”
