He begged to be shot — but not with beanbags.

A day after allegedly stabbing his estranged wife to death in a Midtown beauty salon, Michael Kenny screamed at Maryland cops, “Go ahead — shoot me! Shoot me!”

They did — with nonlethal beanbags full of bird shot

“I’d rather be shot with the real thing,” Kenny, 42, griped.

His confession was made public yesterday in a Manhattan courtroom, as he pleaded not guilty to murdering Denise Kenny, 41, in her West 35th Street workplace bathroom at D’Galina’s Center Unisex Salon.

“They’re going to f – – k me,” he allegedly told cops in an ambulance in Anne Arundel County, where he was arrested en route to an ex-wife’s home in Millersville, Md.

“Is my wife OK?” police say he asked. “Do you know I stabbed her? Seven times — with a knife.”
