A long-standing associate of Montreal’s Rizzuto organized-crime family pleaded guilty yesterday to cocaine-trafficking charges in Brooklyn.

Alessandro Taloni, 39, served as the West Coast manager of the Rizzuto clan’s efforts to smuggle cocaine from Mexico through the US and into Canada, officials say.

Brooklyn federal prosecutors say Taloni also played a key role in a $1billion international narcotics ring headed by French-Canadian drug kingpin Jimmy Cournoyer, who once was one of the Big Apple’s main marijuana suppliers.

The Bonanno crime family, which “is closely aligned with the Rizzuto family,” was a major player in the illicit cooperative arrangement that also included the Hells Angels and Mexico’s Sinaloa cartel, Assistant US Attorney Steven Tiscione wrote to a judge.

Taloni faces at least 10 years in prison and forfeiture of $2.7 million in drug proceeds.
