An irate New Jersey man viciously murdered a family in a stabbing rampage that targeted his ex-girlfriend and her two young children, with the accused then attempting to turn the knife on himself in a bloody domestic violence tragedy, according to prosecutors and a family member.

Napoleon Romero-Anduray, 31, allegedly violently slaughtered the family, whose blood-curdling screams echoed through the Jersey City apartment building around 12:15 a.m. Thursday morning, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office.

Luisa Urbano, 31, Juan Martino Urbano, 9, and Diana Ramirez, 5 — who are described by neighbors as immigrants from Columbia — were all found stabbed to death inside the apartment in an act of cruelty that was first uncovered by the apartment building’s superintendent.

“He went crazy and killed the two children and the mother,” building super Luis Turcos told The Post, adding that he heard the commotion and instinctively went to help.

“I tried to help her and the two children, but when I opened the door, the guy, he had a knife in his hand and stabbed the girlfriend,” the super recalled of the gory scene.

Turcos, who is the brother-in-law of the accused, said that Romero-Anduray lunged at him with the knife when the super opened the door to the apartment.

“I didn’t see where the kids were, but then [Romero-Anduray] came toward me and I ran away,” Turcos told The Post.

“I locked all the doors and called the cops. I had to protect my daughter and my wife and my son.”

Romero-Anduray’s alleged brutality was heard by neighbor Emilse Fuentes, 60, who interacted with Luisa Urbano just days before her murder.

“I thought there was a fire because I heard screaming, so I ran outside and saw the mother outside, on the phone,” she recalled. “It was just before midnight. She was screaming and looked very upset. I thought she was on the phone with the fire department, but there was no fire.”

Fuentes saw Romero-Anduray inside the building, but assumed “he was looking for the bad guy,” she said.

The victim and her children were in the country illegally and Urbano had a desire to leave the United States, she added.

“Last week, I was in the basement talking to her,” the neighbor said. “She said she had come here two years ago from Colombia illegally, and now she wanted to go back.”

“She had come two years ago, then gone back and brought the children. But she wasn’t happy here,” she added. “She didn’t say why and I didn’t ask. I said it’s not easy to adapt here, you need to give it a few years.”

Tensions had been ongoing between the couple, according to Turcos. 

“It’s a long story, back and forth, back and forth,” he said. “She had to call the police on him in the past, the police came, he went to jail – stuff like that. He was always getting angry.” 

Romero-Anduray was found injured at the scene by police and is currently hospitalized with injuries.

He has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder and two weapon possession raps, prosecutors said.

Luisa Urbano was pronounced dead at the scene. Her two children, Juan Martin Urbano and Diana Ramirez were taken to Jersey City Medical Center where they succumbed to their injuries. 

In an early Thursday post on X, Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop called the slaying a “terrible triple homicide” and “such horrible and sad news.” 

“We have chaplains and social workers in the neighborhood to work with family and neighbors,” Fulop wrote. “We are working closely with the HCPO.”

A white sheet was draped over a broken window on the building’s first floor in the aftermath of the murders, CBS reported. 

Residents told the network blood could be seen on the stairs and caution tape blocked off the lobby.
