A woman was beaten to death with a hammer inside of her Bronx apartment, a law enforcement source said.

Police showed up to the woman’s Perry Avenue building in Norwood last night at around 10:30 p.m. for a wellness check and found the 64-year-old woman in her bedroom with severe trauma about her body, according to the source.

A hammer was found in the same room and is believed to be the weapon used to kill her, police sources said.

Police are still investigating and said the city medical examiner’s office will officially determine the cause of death.
