A 26-year-old woman was injured when she was stabbed early Saturday in the Bronx, police said.

The violence erupted on Webster Avenue, near Decatur Avenue in the Fordham section shortly before 4 a.m. police said.

The woman got into a squabble with the unknown assailant, who stabbed her with an unknown object, causing lacerations to the left side of her chest, an NYPD spokeswoman said.

The victim was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital in critical but stable condition, the NYPD said. There are no arrests and no immediate details on what sparked the stabbing, police said.
