A woman had her baby in the back of a livery cab just steps from a Manhattan hospital Friday morning.
The child was born in the vehicle at about 8:45 a.m. at East 98th Street and Fifth Avenue, right across from Mount Sinai Hospital, officials said.
Emergency responders took the mother and her newborn on the short trip into the facility.
“She came in a black car, like a car service,” said witness Abraham Atwa, 51, who operates a food cart in front of the hospital.
“It stopped here in front of the hospital, and we heard the baby screaming. It was born inside the car,” Atwa said.
