A woman died in an early-morning fire that erupted inside her Brooklyn home Monday, officials said.
The woman, whose identity has not been released, was found unconscious and unresponsive inside the second-floor bedroom of the home on East 52nd Street near Avenue D in East Flatbush, after firefighters knocked down the flames, police said.
She was pronounced dead at the scene by responding EMS personnel, authorities said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Robert MeceaThe FDNY responded to the two-story private home just after 3 a.m. for a report of fire and smoke on the second floor, the department said.
Twelve FDNY units, including 60 firefighters and EMS workers responded to the scene.
The cause remained under investigation later in the morning.
